The Warriors downfall was to be expected

The Golden State Warriors are dangerously close to missing out on the playoffs. They're currently 10th in the Western Conference with a one-game cushion over the surging Houston Rockets. Golden State's loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves on Sunday was its third loss in the last four games. 

Steve Kerr's team has struggled for consistency this season. Injuries and suspensions have both played their part in Golden State's struggles. However, the truth is that their trio of stars Steph Curry, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green is past its prime.

During a recent Sirius XM NBA Radio episode, former NBA champion Antonio Daniels noted that dynasties rarely have fairytale endings. 

"They don't have that organizational and collective confidence that they once had," Daniels said. "And on the other side, teams don't view that Golden State Warriors team as they once did...Dynasties don't crumble down quietly. They don't crumble down gracefully. Generally, when you have a dynasty...they don't end well. Because you feel like that dynasty needs to extend forever and then something ends up happening...It's very rare that dynasties end in the best-case scenario."
