Kevin Harvick bets on Denny Hamlin to win Bristol Cup race

I’m just going to go with the old boring pick, I think I’m going to go with the guy that won there last time that I think had a shot to win it this week [at Phoenix] in Denny Hamlin. I think he’s got that dog in him still. So, I think if Denny Hamlin doesn’t win … I think one of the RFK cars will hopefully be up front. I think they both ran really well there last year, I think the 17 and the 6, Brad had some trouble and ended up in the backstretch wall, but I think both of those cars will run good as well. Harvick said via Happy Hour Podcast.

Harvick has chosen three driver who returned to racing in the top-5 after a tough first three races of the season. All three couldn’t produce much in the first two races in Superspeedways and at Vegas they showed signs of progress and last Sunday at Phoenix marked the completion of their return.

Harvick betting on his ex-Ford teammate is a good move as, Buescher has always been a standout performer at the track and had won the second race of the year at the track last season. He loves to race at the track and cherishes the trophy he has won from here last year. He is hoping to relive the same moments this Sunday.

Bristol has been my favorite racetrack for a really long period of time. I’ve absolutely loved it there from the first I was able to go. I’ve always run really well there. I just had it quick pretty early on and even though I’ve got that sword at home right now and got a Bristol win, won a Bristol Night Race, which has been the one race on the top of my list that I care for just a little bit more than anywhere else. Buescher said.

The race will also mark the end to NASCAR’s dirt race venture. For the last three years the race-1 at Bristol has been on a temporarily made dirt track and it has never produced the best races possible. Hence NASCAR decided to return to the concrete track with the hopes of hosting impressive races.
